I was pretty disappointed with NYFW this time ’round. Especially the one show I was looking forward to most, Betsey Johnson. Her pieces just looked so cheap and not fashion forward. The Marc Jacobs show was unappealing as well. I saw a lot of orange which was supposed to be a very in color, and a lot of 70’s bell bottoms which I love. I like how Mondo from Project Runway made some 70’s bell bottoms last week; Ive been waiting for these to come back. The Alice + Olivia show was fairly awesome. Unlike most other shows, it had substance and a lot of design involved. The Rachel Roy collection was simple, but I guess she was going for a minimalistic approach this season. I loved the Rodarte show. The model’s lipstick reminds me of “Plastique” by MAC and they did a simple but unique hairstyle on the models. I loved the gold metallic involved, but I didn’t think this fall trend would carry into spring. The “fanny pack” the DVF model is wearing is absolutely fabulous. Im gravitating towards some saddle style camel colored pieces, very Chloe. Again, Anna Sui did not disappoint with her fabulous prints and ethnic vibe. I like how she remained consistent in her taste from last season, I feel like I know her aesthetic. I want to own every piece in her collection. The Vivienne Westwood collection confused me, definitely not RTW. I liked the neckline on some Philip Lim pieces with the peter pan collar but other than that, I feel like the collection lacked design. As a whole, I wasnt a big fan of the Rochas collection, but this blue dress is phenomenal.
