My friend and I found this awesome location for photos yesterday. All of them were taken on a Nikon except the last one, which was taken on my Sony, aka wanna-be DSLR. Surprisingly, I think I like my camera better…
Side note: these JC flip flops are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever had the displeasure of wearing.

Starting this lovely Monday morning out with an outfit post. This is the last week of classes before summer *cries*. I’m actually sad about it…

Also, if you haven’t seen the 90s series, Twin Peaks, you better start watchin’.

photo photo4-4.jpg Last couple of days in photo form. I got the honor of being able to go to the Stanley Kubrick exhibition at the LACMA last night. It was a college student only event: fun atmosphere, food and people.
Went to a Wildfox sample sale in downtown this morning…FIDM girls were hauling ass in that showroom (I assume most of them were from FIDM, I didn’t see any familiar faces and let’s get real, who else would wake up that early for a sample sale on a Friday morning?). Apparently people lined up for it 2 hours in advance (doors opened at 9 AM). That’s a lot of commitment. I skedaddled on over at 9:15 and had to wait in this line for about 35-40 minutes. I wish I could say it was worth it like the UNIF sample sales are but it was quite a disappointment. I was hoping for better discounts and more current merchandise. All in all, it was quite an interesting experience.

New York City

I landed in NYC on Thursday and it’s been a hectic few days. The weather is absolutely awful in July. Humid, hot, disgusting, and then it randomly rains on you. Due to this, blog pictures weren’t at the top of my priority list. But today the weather was a tad calmer. We went to some small shops in Hoboken and got off at this cool train station, so I decided to have my sister take some photos of my outfit. I’ve noticed that a lot of girls in NYC/NJ revolve their outfits around labels. Mostly everyone has a designer bag and a chiffon top on. Chiffon tops, tailored shorts, and strappy sandals are like the uniform of this region. Where’s the creativity in that?
I’m sporting the California look with the tied up top and cut off, tie dyed skirt. Skirts and shorts are the only option in this weather.
Great view of NYC! Photobucket

Carlo’s Bake Shop from Cake Boss!

I start classes at FIT tomorrow, FINALLY! I’m also headed to SoHo this week, stay tuned.
Oh and, eeeeeep it’s my birthday tomorrow! Finally 18.

Don’t mind the bizarre title, it’s the first word I thought of while looking at this top and skirt combination. Tying up t-shirts and wearing them with high waisted skirts is literally my summer uniform. It’s effortless yet still chic. These photos weren’t taken at my usual location because I had just gotten back from San Francisco and I wasn’t in the mood to get all elaborate. I didn’t even take the time to powder my nose *le sigh* summer has made me such a laggard.
I actually bought this skirt today. It’s funny because I usually never try things on at Urban Outfitters because I know my size but when I got home, I realized I have gone a size down thanks to Insanity. Also thanks to Insanity, I herniated a disc in my back so needless to say, I returned that nonsense. ANYWAYS, back to fashion. The tangerine color attracted me because it’s the color of 2012 of course, but also one of the colors of Pepperdine University, the college I will be attending this fall (only this fall, then USC for the rest, just to clear things up). I got a laptop bag in this same color.
I broke my promise with myself about Wildfox. I had decided I wouldn’t invest in such poorly made clothing but I have been wanting this top for ages. I like the swimsuit version as well, but it doesn’t seem too flattering. I noticed every store I checked was selling out of this top so when I found it at the Black Label Boutique online, I couldn’t help myself. Apparently the neons and pastels of spring are out and now it’s time to go for monochromatic white looks (according to Who What Wear). This isn’t anything new in my opinion, it’s the quintessential resort wear look. Wearing all white is something I will try out but I feel like stars such as Kim Kardashian or Olivia Palermo can’t be looked at for inspiration, because their take on the trend is far too aging for someone of my age.
I jumped on the Michael Kors gold watch bandwagon today. I love the way gold looks on my skin tone and I don’t really have a great watch, so this ended up being my graduation present from my mommy. I really love the white version but the rubber attracts dirt and the ceramic is way too heavy. #firstworldprobz

P.S. Sky blue nail polish is totally underrated. *valley girl voice* it’s hecka cute! #sarcasmintended

I Don’t Like Galaxy Print

I loved galaxy print last summer but now I’m over it. I bought this skirt in the mountain print from the sale. They sent me this one for some reason and it’s funny because I had just tweeted about how I don’t like galaxy print anymore. But when I threw the skirt on with this top, it seemed to work.
This top was made to wear at my high school that starts at the ungodly hour of 7 am. I got it at when they were having their Friday the 13th sale.
These boots are more like a heel because they have absolutely no platform but they scream spring and I’m in ❤ with them.
PhotobucketMy sister bought this spike bracelet from eBay but it was too tight so she gave it to me (I love it when stuff like that happens). Apparently this style of bracelet is super popular. Kind of like the mini rainbow colored skull bead bracelets but those are hideous in my opinion. Oh and the YSL arty ring is a knock off because I couldn’t even tell the difference between some of the knockoffs and the real thing. I have never bought a knock off anything before because designers make quality items and that’s what you pay for, not the logo.
